Chapter 23 Summary

Buck arrives in Chicago and makes an appointment to see Bruce at the New Hope Village Church. First, he tends to business by interviewing candidates to replace someone they lost during the disappearances. They watch the news on CNN where they are reporting that Carpathia is accepting his new post as Secretary General of the U.N. Buck continues to watch as Carpathia charms the media and talks of his plans for global disarmament. He gets a call from Steve Plank asking him to come back to New York for another meeting with Carpathia. Buck is the only member of the press that Carpathia will allow in the meeting. He also tells Buck that Nicolae wants to see Hattie again and asks for her to come as well.

Later that day, Buck meets with Bruce.....
