Chapter 4 Summary

Buck gets word from his office that Hattie's family is alive and well. However, he still has no information on his father and brother who live out west. As he listens to people's theories on the disappearances, he begins to wonder if what happened was not a miraculous event as many are now beginning to assume. While waiting on line at the reservation desk, Buck does a search on his computer for information on Nicolae Carpathia. From an interview he conducted with Chaim Rosenzweig months before, he finds out that Nicolae is working on an impressive career path. Nicolae is seen as a successful businessman and recent peacemaker who speaks nine languages fluently. When he gets up to the counter and requests passage to New York, the representative connects him with a private.....
