Buck wakes up to find people around him are missing. As the plane makes its way back to the States, he connects his laptop modem to the air phone to find out information on the disappearances. When the flight attendant, Hattie, sees him destroying the phone she demands he return everything the way he found it. In order to keep working, he promises to make contact with her family members. While he does this, he also taps out a message to his boss at the magazine, Steve Plank. As the plane makes its descent back to Chicago O'Hare, Buck sees the destruction that is taking place outside. Everywhere there are accidents, fires, and other plane crashes. When the plane finally lands, the airport is so backed up with.....
