Summary

In "Men of Feeling," at the Blomgren women’s rented apartment in Portofino, Sandro tends to the group’s injuries. Anja and Bitte do not want to be left alone. Frank offers to get them a room in the Splendido for as long as they need. Frank spends the night watching over Anja and Bitte. In the private garden of the Splendido the following morning, Frank tells Tenn he wants an acting part in Senso, along with Anja. “It wounded [Frank’s] pride to ask Tenn for anything, but it was just this once … he’d have done it a long time ago if he hadn’t been caught up in the thrall … and chores of Tenn’s world” (111). They devise a plan to distract Bitte with a bachelor in Portofino and take Anja to Verona, as Tenn has to finish the Senso script...
