Chapter 26-30 Summary

Chapter Twent- Six

Mack is now following a road but still hiding in the taiga. While crossing the road he is seen by a car and the driver tries to kill him. Mack kills the driver and then takes the car and dead driver into town.

Alekhim finds the man and the car. Seeing the arrowhead right away, he knows it was Mack who killed the man. Alekhim talks to the man in charge in town, Petrovich and tells him to be on the lookout for Mack. Later that night, after Alekhim has left, Mack shows up at Petrovich's cabin and makes Petrovich fix him food and coffee.

Chapter Twenty-Seven

The two men talk over the meal and then Mack ties Petrovich to his bed, stokes the fire and leaves. When Mack leaves Petrovich's office he puts as much distance between them as possible. By...
