Chapter 6 Summary
Now Valentin is sick with the same cramping stomachaches that Molina had. He is afraid to go to the infirmary because they might give him seconal, which he is worried he would become addicted to and then tell all the secrets of his political group in order to get his fix.
Molina is much more sympathetic to Valentin than Valentin was to him. He begins another movie to distract his cell mate. A young race car driver has built his own race car and is ready to win big, when somebody sabotages his car. His car is completely destroyed. So he goes to see his father in Monte Carlo. The father is supportive, but when he mentions something negative about the boy's mother, the son turns and walks out on him.
