Summary

Chapter Six begins eight years later, Suubi waits for some kind of illness to take her as she is still dangerously skinny and rats eat the dead skin off her feet. She likes to go to Namirembe Hill to look over the village. One day, an old man offers to take her to buy some shoes and gives her food. As he drives past the city, she realizes that she has been abducted. Two more men show up, and cut her thigh before the first man tells her to run. The men are dragged out of the woods and Suubi escapes as a mob assaults the men. On the way home, Suubi forces herself to forget everything. A month later, Suubi is given a job as a house-servant for a rich family, ending her dreams of...
