Act 4, Scene 5 Summary

Oswald and Regan are speaking at Gloucester's castle. Oswald confirms that Albany's army is mobilized, although he says that Albany was reluctant and calls Goneril the better soldier. Oswald has a letter for Edmund, and Regan asks what's in it. Oswald doesn't know. Regan says that Edmund has gone to kill Gloucester; in his crippled condition, he is turning people he meets against Regan and Edmund. When Oswald says that he must find Edmund to deliver the letter, Regan asks him to remain instead. When Oswald refuses, Regan asks him to let her open the letter. She suspects that Edmund and Goneril are having an affair, but she has talked to Edmund and expects to.....
