Summary

Efiya cries for many days, and Ty says she is teething. Arrah is surprise that Efiya is acting like a normal child, and wonders how much time has passed outside of Kefu. Ty says that Arrah and Efiya are very similar, but Arrah says that Efiya is not human. She falls asleep thinking of her second ritual, glad that she buried her ancestors bones before the first one. When she awakens, Efiya is seven years old and asks why she cannot hear Arrah’s mind. When she tries to fix Arrah by using magic, Arti arrives, furious, and the two leave. Arrah overhears Arti demanding that Efiya find the demon king. Efiya says there are too many lines and futures and asks to go see Arrah instead. Arrah wonders if she can cultivate Efiya’s empathy and childhood...
