Ravka

Ravka is the country ruled by King Nikolai. At the beginning of the novel, Ravka is recovering from a bloody civil war against the Darkling. Due to this, many people are fearful of Grisha and Nikolai works tirelessly to reunite his country. Unfortunately, Ravka is in the middle of every other country. Fjerda and Shu are at war with each other with Ravka in the middle, while Zenemi and Kerch are both allies of Ravka, but enemies with each other. Therefore, Nikolai uses most of his time developing a navy to defend themselves, learning everything they can about the other countries, and bringing Ravka’s people together.
