Summary

In Chapter 13 of King and the Dragonflies, it is several days after Sandy was found and returned to his father’s home. King goes to his house to try to see if he is safe, but Sheriff Sanders opens the door, instead, and tells King he knows he helped Sandy stay hidden and will send him to juvenile court for aiding a runaway minor if King does not stay away from their house. King returns home to find his parents waiting for him. Sheriff Sanders called and told them that King is gay and that he helped Sandy hide. Sheriff Sanders also said that Sandy “got the idea to be gay” (193) from being around King. King denies this but sees his parents do not believe him, so he runs into the yard and hides in the tent. He falls asleep dreaming of Khalid...
