Chapters 5 and 6 Summary

In Chapter 5, after work one day, Colie goes to the post office to pick up the mail. Collie overhears some women talking a few rows over about Aunt Mira. The women are saying how quirky Aunt Mira is and that it seems as she is taking in strays. When Colie returns t her aunt's house, she does not tell her aunt about the conversation she overheard the two women having in the post office. When Colie tells Morgan about what she overheard the women saying about her aunt, Morgan sheds some light on why people think of Mira as eccentric. When Mira taught a painting class at the local community center, Mira had the 70-year-old mailman pose nude. Mira also fought the school board when they tried to ban certain books from the school library.
