Point of View

Just Like You is told through a third person limited narrator. The narrator’s focus alternates between Joseph and Lucy, often switching within chapters. The narrator’s role is crucial, as it enables the reader to understand how each protagonist is feeling about the various events which unfold throughout the novel. This enables the reader to empathize with both Lucy’s and Joseph’s internal struggles. This narration style is also especially useful considering that Joseph and Lucy have trouble communicating their thoughts and feelings to each other.
