Fourteen Summary

In Fourteen, Dru, Mom and Dad drive to El Nido. Mom is nervous, but Dad is calm. Mr. and Mrs. Moriarty (Mike's parents) and Janie (Mike's little sister) welcome Dru's family. They show them around the house, which is gorgeous with hardwood floors, glass walls and amazing views. They have a perfectly delicious dinner. Dru gets annoyed because Janie says she likes her better than Diane. Dru thinks she is special, but Diane has been here already. Mrs. Moriarty will start college in the fall; she has never finished her college education because she met Mr. Moriarty. It is a huge regret for her. They discuss the California university system, which the Moriartys think is the best. Dad agrees, but he is happy his girls have scholarships to attend wherever they want.

After dinner, Mike watches Dru. Dad plays piano for them and...
