Act 4, Scene 3 Summary

Cassius says Brutus wronged him by disgracing Lucius Pella for taking bribes from the Sardinians, and dismissing the letter Cassius wrote in the man's defence. Brutus tells him he should not have defended the man. Brutus also accuses Cassius of having an "itching palm" when it comes to money. Cassius is extremely offended by such an insult. Brutus reminds Cassius that one of the reasons they killed Caesar was because if his "supporting robbers," and says that they should not now "contaminate [their] fingers with base bribes." Cassius replies that he is older and abler than Brutus is to make decisions about such manners. The argument continues to escalate and Brutus says Cassius wronged him by denying him the money he needed to pay his legions-- an accusation Cassius denies. Cassius.....
