Chapters 12-13 Summary

At the beginning of Chapter 12, Jean arrives at school and immediately knows something is wrong, as a large crowd of students and teacher are standing by her locker. When Jean and Tory approach the crowd, they see that a dead, headless rat is hanging from her locker. Jean immediately knows that Tory is responsible but knows that this is not related to any type of spell, worrying her about what Tory is willing to do. She also worries that her attempts to stop Tory from casting harmful spells will not be effective. Tory's friends are also aware that Tory is responsible for the rat however, as they are unable to prove it and don't want her to be mad at them, they state there is nothing they can do to help Jean.
