Act 1, Scene 13 Summary

As Judas nuzzles Mary Magdalene, she tries to slap him. Jesus awakens and Mary leaves, leaving Jesus and Judas to confront each other with their eyes. Judas exits and runs to the council in front of the graffiti-covered wall, which now presents a red background. All there are dressed in black, including Judas, who now wears a black t-shirt. The spotlight is on the five council members. Judas tries to weasel out of what he has planned by saying he did not come here for himself, but because Jesus cannot control his followers. He grovels before the council to get a commitment to not damned for all time as he kneels.....
