Act 1, Scene 5 Summary

Mary Magdalene tries to sooth Jesus' cares and helps him rest by singing "Everything's Alright," which comes across as also an attempt to seduce him. Jesus begins to lie down and rest as Judas grabs the jar of ointment out of Mary Magdalene's hands. Judas tells both of them that the 300 silver pieces the ointment cost should have been used to help the poor instead of being wasted on Jesus's hair and feet. Jesus becomes very human and self-centered in his reply that they do not have the money to save all the poor people, and there will always be more.
