Chapters 28 - 31 Summary and Analysis

When the travelers finally have the courage to emerge from the inside of the peach once again, they are horrified to see the Cloud Men are still there, this time panting the colors on a giant rainbow. The travelers all sit on the edge of the peach, admiring the rainbow's beauty, when they suddenly realize that they are headed straight for the rainbow and will certainly crash into it! With a tremendous thud, the peach smashes through the rainbow, breaking it into hundreds of little pieces. The enraged Cloud Men chase after the travelers on the peach and threaten to eat them. One of the Cloud Men manages to attach himself to the seagull ropes, and the insects are all paralyzed with fear.
