Chapter 13 Summary

After the incident with the hand lotion, Louise is sure that she is crazy. She pictures herself alone and bewildered like Auntie Braxton. She also realizes that crazy people have more freedom then normal people. Braxton is to about to be released from the hospital and the Captain will be homeless again. Caroline gets the idea that the Captain should marry Auntie Braxton for convenience sake. That way he will have somewhere to live and Auntie Braxton will have someone to take care of her. The Captain considers that idea, although he is worried that people will think he is marrying Braxton for her money. The Captain goes to Crisfield and returns to Rass three days later with Auntie Braxton. They got married in Crisfield.
