Summary

In Chapter 15, the four friends explain their plan to Atómiko and he tells them he can help them cross the border. He summons his friend Wino who drives the five of them to a meeting point. A coyote explains the process of border crossing to them. Atómiko promises to meet them back in Tijuana if they get caught and deported. The coyote removes a section of the border fence and they all enter America. As they run, Nayeli notices that a pregnant woman is running alongside them.

In Chapter 16, the four friends and the pregnant woman become separated from the coyote and are arrested by border patrol. They are driven to a holding pen.

In Chapter 17, Nayeli explains her plan to a border agent named Arnold “Arnie” Davis who is amused and astonished by her ideas but still plans to deport her...
