Louis is the vampire who grants the interview. He is a mortal man, twenty-four years old, when Lestat makes him a vampire. He has green eyes, dark hair, and is considered tall by the standards of his day in the late 1800s. At the time that he has his first encounter with Lestat the vampire he is feeling guilt over his brother's death. He is immediately enamored of Lestat, though that quickly changes when he becomes a vampire. Louis blames Lestat for not making the experience a better one, which he could have done by coaching him.
