Part 2: Chapter 25 Summary

Sam feels like an idiot. She was not serious about moving to Lexington, but she does want a car. The next morning, Irene gives Sam money for the VW bug. Sam feels guilty and wonders why she is so upset about Irene getting married and moving away.

Sam buys the car from Tom but he refuses to go for a ride with her. He says they should forget what happened between them. Sam cries all of the way home.

Sam goes to see Dawn. Dawn tells her that her boyfriend knows about the baby and he seems happy. She talks brightly about renting an apartment. She has decided that it might be O.K. to have a child. Sam finally tells her to get an abortion......
