Part 2: Chapter 12 Summary

That night, Sam dreams that she and Tom have a baby. She wakes up and thinks about how sometimes the situations on M*A*S*H seem too simple. She spends time replaying some of the episodes in her head.

Sam goes to Lonnie's house for dinner. His mother talks about the upcoming wedding. Sam changes to subject again to Agent Orange. Lonnie says he does not think Emmett has Agent Orange. Lonnie's mother says she thought Emmett did not work because he was on disability. Sam says, "No. He wasn't wounded." She feels embarrassed that Emmett does not work. It is becoming harder for her to defend her uncle. Lonnie's mother then shows Sam a spice rack she has purchased for the wedding shower. Sam pretends to be interested, but secretly wonders if she.....
