Chapters 29 and 30 Summary

Chapter 29: Darkness

Menehem tells Ana that Li did not kill Sam. He had killed Li because he thought that was what Ana was going to do. He has saved her the trouble. Ana keeps her pistol aimed at Menehem as she follows him inside the house. Menehem disarms Ana and tells her that he had not tried to kill her and Sam and is not working with Meuric. He also had not sent sylph after her.

Menehem tells Ana that he had stopped a reincarnation once - the night Ciana died. Li and anyone else who dies on this day will not come back. Menehem had poisoned Janan who had been responsible for reincarnations. He will not be able to fulfill his duties at least on this day and anyone dying today will not come back and will be replaced by...
