Summary

In Chapter 7, Cassie and Rob went to talk to Vera, the aunt with whom Rosalind and Jessica had spent the night Monday night. It came up in the conversation that Rosalind had run away from home in May. She had been gone for three days. One of the cousins, Valerie, said that Rosalind ran away because her father had hit her, and that she had been with a man.

After Cassie and Rob finished, Rob and Cassie decided they needed to know for sure why Rosalind had run away from home and where she had gone. Cassie suggested Rob would get more out of Rosalind if he talked to her alone. Rob noticed Cassie give him a strange look when he told her that Rosalind had already asked to talk to him alone.
