Point of View

In the Hand of the Goddess is written in the third person limited point of view. The narrator of the story tells Alanna's tale and her thoughts. Alanna's telepathic communications with Faithful are also recorded. The reader is not aware of the inner thoughts of other characters, although there are many times that the reader is privy to scenes which happen when Alanna is not present. The characters of Jonathan, George and Myles use dialogue and discussion to inform the reader about their inner thoughts and feelings.

Setting
