Ch. 10: Duel of the Sorcerer Summary

The second feast of the Midwinter Festival begins and the dinners are joined by the queen. She is still sick and Alanna notices a glow of orange magic about her, Roger's magic color. Alanna decides now is the time to act against Roger. While everyone is occupied, she goes to find evidence against the Duke. She goes to Roger's rooms and uses her magic to pick the lock on his door. She breaks into his back room and finds where the Duke keeps his implements of magic. In the room there is a fountain with running water. Alanna finds a wax figure of the queen in the fountain.
