Jacky Farber is a pirate, mischievous girl and officer. She has recently escaped the British authorities after fighting in the Battle of Trafalgar and is wanted for piracy. Jacky has returned to Boston, Massachusetts to wait for her fiance, Lieutenant James Fletcher to come for her. However, to avoid being caught by the British, she must return to Lawson Peabody School for Girls, a place she has lived in the past.

Jacky and her fellow students are kidnapped and taken aboard a slave ship bound for the North African slave markets. The girls are to be sold to brothels and harems in the Arab markets. Jacky and the girls must overcome their differences and make a plan to escape. Conditions on the ship are brutal. Food is bad, the girls are abused and there are rats. But the girls come together and are able to escape and return to Boston.
