Chapter 11 Summary

The chapter begins with food that is inedible, and Mac says that the guys will raise hell about it. They get beans and pork grease for supper and cannot eat it. They go to talk to London, and he gives them a can of sardines. Dick comes in with the latest paper, and the headlines read, "Supervisors vote to feed strikers." What it doesn't say is that they immediately voted to rescind the order. He wants a paper signed by the strike chairman that they are getting nothing. He says that he has one woman who is eager, but she is sixteen axe-handles across. They tell him about Joy.

Mrs. Dakin has taken the tent down and departed the camp. Mac says that Dakin will have money before it's all over. Dick says that.....
