Summary

In Chapter 65, Christopher wakes up on a hospital gurney, but quickly realizes he is no longer on the Real side. Bad Cat appears on television, asking Christopher to reveal the location of the Nice Man. A doctor threatens to cut out his tongue.

In Chapter 66, Kate awakens on the Real side, having suffered several broken ribs and various lacerations. She finds Christopher in the ICU. The doctor thinks he is brain dead, but Kate believes that the Hissing Lady has Christopher trapped on the Imaginary side.

Chapter 67 returns to Ambrose’s perspective. He awakens at 2:17 A.M. having been asleep for three consecutive days. Despite his head ache and the fogginess of his vision, Ambrose continues to decipher David’s diary.
