Summary

In Chapter 11, Ellie and Miah run into each other in the hall again. Miah says he is skipping class because he already knows everything they are learning. Ellie decides to skip trigonometry too so they can hang out. They leave school and take a walk in Central Park in the sun. Two old white women judge them for being together and ask Ellie if she is okay. Miah is frustrated and angry that they think he is dangerous just because he is black. They talk about their parents, and Ellie tells Miah though hers are still together it is only because no one else would put up with them. They sit on a bench together.
