Chapter 12 Summary

While the kids hide out in the kitchen, Tris has a mental breakdown, hits his head, and starts screaming. Diana takes him upstairs for a bath. When Smithy and Madison say that Tris should be okay with them, Jack snaps that they left, which caused Tris not to be okay with them. Madison decides the grownup they can trust is their Reverend. When she calls him, he is excited to hear from her and says the youth group kids never called her because her aunt said she wanted a fresh start. When she tells the reverend this isn't true, Madison hangs up on him. Then she notices the rage building up in Jack and she realizes why it's important to call the police in these situations so that people don't take matters into their own hands.
