Summary

The first chapter in this section takes place in 2006, when Ann drives to a town named Kennewick, where she meets a man named Tom. Tom drew "age progression" images of his cousin many years ago, and his sketches helped find his cousin. Wade read the news story many years ago. He has asked Tom to sketch missing person posters for the now 21-year-old June. Wade had asked Tom to help him find June nine years ago. He never told Wade, but Tom has been sketching images of June ever since Wade left one of his knives and family photos in Tom’s mailbox. The knife he left him is the same knife Ann confiscated from June after she left it in Eliot’s empty locker.
