Summary

The chapter titled “2008” takes place in the Sage Hill Women’s Correctional Center, where Jenny has been sentenced to serve a life sentence. The main character of this chapter is named Elizabeth. She is serving two back-to-back life sentences and has been living in the correctional center for more than ten years when Jenny arrives. However, no one meets Jenny for the first five years of her sentence because she lives in solitary confinement until the prison can determine whether or not Jenny is a threat to the general prison population.
