Section 12: Chapter 23 & 24 Summary

In Chapter 23, Cammie knows it is a bad idea to join her classmates when Mom gives them permission to go to town on Saturday because it means they could see her with Josh or he could see her with the Gallagher Girls, but she needs a few hours of forgetting her sadness. On Saturday, she leaves the other sophomores to go to the pharmacy for aspirin. Since Josh is out on a delivery, Cammie enjoys an ice cream sundae, ducking when Anna Fetterman enters to get her inhaler refilled. Dillon and his friends enter and harass Anna for attending Gallagher Academy, reminding Cammie why Gallagher Girls should not fraternize with town boys. The harassment lessens but continues when Macey and Bex enter and protect Anna. Bex glares at the boys, and when Anna receives her prescription, the girls leave. Watching Anna...
