Section 9: Chapter 17 & 18 Summary

In Chapter 17, Cammie panics when she sees the strange look on Josh's face as she meets him at the gazebo, but when he says she looks amazing, she has never felt less invisible, and she does not want to disappear for the first time in a long time. He apologizes for not checking the movie times, but they already missed the movie. Cammie is sure the mission is compromised and tries not to sound too disappointed, but Josh asks her to grab a burger and she agrees. He holds the diner door open for her, and they sit at a booth. When a group of teens enter, Cammie cannot count on Josh because he is panicking too. Her cover is not blown, but her confidence is shaken, especially when a pretty blond girl greets Josh and he identifies her as DeeDee...
