Amanda holds her breath as the Grendel comes towards her but something distracts it and it takes off. She climbs out after it. Connor's macerated form is frozen to the ice, and she tries not to look at him as she takes his helmet with its miner's light, his axe, and at the last moment his radio. She broadcasts her situation, finds the green trail markers, and heads towards the exit.
