Summary

Chapter 6 is titled “Plan Cs.” Harun, Freya, and Nathaniel arrive at Harun's house where his family has gathered for a formal dinner on the night before Harun is due to leave for Pakistan. Harun gave Freya and Nathaniel no information but they agreed without question when he asked them to join him for a family dinner. When Harun's sister-in-law Leesa asks if they are friends from school, Freya answers “yes” without hesitation. Abu and Ammi set extra places at the table. Freya says she is studying music and Nathaniel says he is studying nursing. Leesa asks how Freya will earn money with a music degree. She says she wanted to be a figure skater but knew she could not make a living at it, and went into real estate instead. She asks if Freya has a “plan B.” Freya says she does not...
