Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third

Hiccup is the son of Stoick the Vast, who is the leader of the Hooligan Tribe of Vikings. He is in line to become the tribe's next leader, but has become known as Hiccup the Useless because he has none of the qualities his tribe sees as necessary for a good ruler. As he and his friends approach a test that will prove they are worthy to be part of their tribe, Hiccup is worried that he will fail. He does not really want to be a hero or to excel at the test – he just wants to pass. Hiccup's grandfather predicts that Hiccup will be the kind of leader his tribe needs moving into the future, but Hiccup can only see his faults.
