Summary

Chapter 6 is titled “Meanwhile, Deep in the Ocean ...” A sea dragon that has been at the bottom of the ocean for thousands of years is beginning to stir. It had eaten an entire Roman fleet and has rested for several centuries while all that digested.

Chapter 7 is titled “Toothless Wakes Up.” Hiccup greets the dragon, now named Toothless, in Dragonese. In English, he says “Hello, Toothless” (81). In a footnote, the author includes the Dragonese version, which reads “Howdeedoodeethere, Toothless” (81). The next page is a graphic with some Dragonese translations for some very basic commands, including “No poo-ing inside the house, please” and “My mother does not like to be bitten on the bottom” (82).
