Book 4, Chapter 14 Summary

Jenna started thinking of herself as a star, and if others around her did not think the same, she never bothered with them again. Steve St. Croix was one of these people. When he questioned her, she left him and never saw him again.

Her family was on the move again. She could not get in touch with them, but her father did call when they needed money or help. Tony, however, would call and just talk, but they were drifting apart too. She felt like she was losing her family. She decided to invite her dad to escort her to another awards ceremony, and he accepted. She won many awards that night and came to realization that her father was hurt every time he saw her on stage. For him, it was like seeing her mother on the stage and missing that woman all over again.

After receiving so many awards, the 21-year-old Jenna became uncontrollable. She was a horror to work with, telling directors and other actors how to do their work. Steve Orenstein had to have a talk with her and remind her that she was a role model and had to think about her actions.

People also began calling Steve Orenstein and Joy about doing interviews with Jenna. When Joy and Jenna met with the publisher of Screw magazine, they were both so uncomfortable with the man that they canceled the interview. The writer never forgave them and wrote a smear campaign article about Jenna instead. Telling lies about her and making her less of the gold child of the industry.
