Book 2, Chapter 5 Summary

Jenna confronted Jack about the money. She discovered he had spent it all gambling. He was not concerned about it, because he figured she could make it back quickly. As she left for work, she snorted a line of methamphetamine. It was the first time she had used drugs to forget her problems, and would be the first steps into complete darkness.

Jenna had tried calling her father to check on Tony. After trying for several days, she went to his house. It was completely empty and they were gone.

Jenna had gotten a two-bedroom apartment, and initially lived there alone. However, she did not trust Jack, and wanted him with her. He eventually moved with her.

Suze Randall called her for another photo shoot, so she went to Los Angeles for another week. She stayed with Nikki this time, but worried about her family. When she returned to Las Vegas, there was a message from her father. From that time on, he called her every few weeks to give her a new phone number where he could be reached. Jenna quit working at the Crazy Horse Too because she was flying to Los Angeles more often. While working in Los Angeles, she refused to use any methamphetamine, but as soon as she returned to Las Vegas, she would start up again.
