Book Two: That Summer: Chapters One and Two Summary

Haven's mother is cleaning the fridge on the morning that her father is to be remarried. Though her husband's new fiance had invited her to the wedding, she had no intention of attending. Instead, she takes pictures of Haven and Ashley in their Maid of Honor dresses - pink and puffy - and watches as they leave for the church. They get to the church and assemble with the bride who is crying tears of joy, exclaiming how she can't believe this is finally happening.
