Halley's mother spends the day on New Year's Eve preparing for their annual bash. When Halley isn't clear about her plans with Scarlett, she suggests they help her hostess, but Halley insists it would be unfair of her to restrict her plans. Her mother relents, but only after reminding Halley that she is trusting her. Halley dresses and goes across the street where Scarlett greets her with a handful of condoms.
