Summary

In Chapter 27, Adan tries to strangle Lala. Sergeant Beckles comes to inquire where Adan was the night of Baby’s birth and death. Adan says he was in the hospital when Baby was born but then left to help his friend with something. As for Baby’s death, Adan says that he was on a fishing trip with his cousin. Beckles is convinced that Lala and Tone conspired to kill Baby. He saw them kissing one night. Once Beckles leaves, Adan takes an umbrella and starts savagely beating Lala, accusing her of making him seem guilty.
