Act 2, Part 1 Summary

The entrances are guarded by the Officer and a Volunteer as the Soldier paces. After the Soldier asks for a cigarette and is told there are none, the Officer tells him he'll be getting a cup of tea. The Soldier wonders whether Teresa will bring it in, saying he thinks she is pretty. The Officer goes to see when the tea will be ready.

Princess Grace, Mulleady, and other tenants come in to try to catch a glimpse of the prisoner, but Pat comes in and chases them away. Pat then calls for Teresa, who comes in with a tray of tea and some food. He speaks flirtatiously with her, saying that he liked her dancing and that he hopes she cooked the food she brought.
