Summary

In Chapter 19 “Kick-Start My Heart,” Sam wakes on the cold floor of the cage. The light is bright and Brid tells him to pull his shirt over his eyes to adjust to the brightness. She tells him they’re in a basement when he asks and also says he smells odd. He’s attracted to her and tries a lame pick up line. She smiles and they talk; she’s entertained by him. They make introductions and discuss what they know and don’t know about where they are. Brid explains that she’s next in line in her pack and Sam is distracted by her nudity and asks her to put something on, giving her his t-shirt and boxers.
