Chapter 17

In Chapter 17, Sophie returns to her room to find Jenna very upset that she is being blamed for the attack on Chaston. She cries and wishes she were normal. Then, she tells Sophie that she was changed by a girl named Amanda, but The Eye killed Amanda shortly afterward. She says the dark witches were disturbed by Mrs. Casnoff’s warnings about the dangers to the Prodigium, so they wanted to raise a demon to give them more power and make them safer. The girls go to sleep, but Sophie awakens to the sound of screams as the sun is streaming through the window and Jenna’s bloodstone has disappeared. Sophie shoves her into a closet, then goes to Anna and Elodie’s room and although they deny they took it, she casts a spell and finds it in a drawer. She...
