Identical Twins

Identical twins begin in the womb with a single egg and sperm when the fertilized egg splits. Both embryos are nourished but one takes from the other and becomes the larger dominant twin. Cara had been the larger baby and had drained Christa from the time of conception until her death. Cara was slightly larger and a few minutes older and was the more dominant sister. Christa often deferred to Cara’s wishes but learned through the tragedy of Cara’s death by drug overdose that Cara was much weaker than she had believed and that she was much stronger.
